Changes to VAT treatment of energy saving materials from 1 October 2019

Changes are being introduced from 1 October 2019 which will result in the supply of certain Energy Saving Materials (ESMs) being subject to VAT at 20% rather than 5%.

Open banking – changes to banks feeds on Xero

New EU standards come into effect on 14 September which will change the way some banks connect to Xero. The new rules will ensure financial data is shared more securely, giving you better control over your data. The majority of bank feeds currently set up in Xero accounts will be replaced by new direct bank feeds using Open Banking.
