Johnston Carmichael strengthens Financial Services leadership with key promotions
Leading independent UK accountancy and business advisory firm Johnston Carmichael has strengthened its Financial Services team with the promotions of Thuy Vo to Audit Partner and Dean Moore to Audit Director in Glasgow, reinforcing the firm’s focus on growth in the sector.
Thuy, who joined Johnston Carmichael in 2025, brings over two decades of experience spanning Big Four firms and senior roles in fund administration and asset management. She specialises in Investment Management, with a particular focus on alternative investment funds primarily invested in real estate, private equity and infrastructure. Her clients have included private equity funds, venture capital trusts, real estate investment trusts and other regulated investment funds, and she has extensive experience delivering high-quality audits for Public Interest Entities.
Thuy said: “Johnston Carmichael has a clear vision and strong culture, and I look forward to strengthening the Financial Services team. With the investment landscape evolving rapidly, my focus will be on supporting clients through complex audit and risk challenges while helping the firm expand its capabilities beyond Scotland.”
Also based in Johnston Carmichael's Glasgow office, Dean is a Chartered Accountant with more than 11 years of sector experience in listed funds and PIE audits, covering investment trusts, VCTs, LP funds and asset managers, including FTSE 250 entities. Since joining Johnston Carmichael in 2020, he has helped shape the firm’s listed funds audit approach, blending technical expertise with a strong focus on risk management and process standardisation to deliver consistent, high-quality audits. He also brings significant experience working with boards and providing sector insight.
Across the wider business, Johnston Carmichael has also appointed an additional new partner and five new directors, strengthening key areas including Restructuring, Business Support, Private Client Tax, Audit and VAT.
Bryan Shepka, Head of Financial Services at Johnston Carmichael, said: “Thuy and Dean’s promotions are a significant milestone for our Financial Services team, which continues to be a key area of growth for Johnston Carmichael.
“The team now sits at just under 100 specialists across corporate finance, audit and assurance, tax and consultancy services, and we remain focused on expanding our offering across the UK. Their expertise will be invaluable as we continue to grow and reach new markets.”
Thuy and Dean’s promotions are among 88 across the firm this December, bringing the total to 181 this year. These promotions underline Johnston Carmichael’s commitment to investing in its people and fostering a culture of growth and opportunity.
