Dean is an Audit & Assurance Director specialising in financial services audits. Based in Glasgow, Dean has over 11 years’ experience in the sector and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He specialises in listed funds and PIE audits, bringing technical expertise and sector knowledge across investment trusts, VCTs, LP funds, and asset managers, including work on FTSE 250 entities.

Since joining Johnston Carmichael in 2020, Dean has been instrumental in building the firm’s listed funds audit approach. Dean combines technical excellence with a strong focus on risk management and process standardisation, ensuring consistent, high-quality audits, and has significant experience engaging with boards and delivering sector insights.

Outside of work Dean can usually be found watching Arsenal.
