It won’t be me, will it?

I recently received one of the most difficult phone calls I have had from a client, informing me that his son had passed away. We spoke for a few minutes and I offered to help in any way I could, not that I was able to. His son had left behind a wife and two young children and this made me consider my own circumstances and my own family.

Further support for hotels and self-catering accommodation in Scotland

This week the Scottish Government announced further funding for the hospitality & tourism sector with a £14 million hotel recovery programme to support businesses until the start of next summer.

New law to ensure furloughed employees receive full redundancy

The Government brought in a new law this week to ensure furloughed employees receive statutory redundancy pay based on their normal wages, rather than a reduced furlough rate.
