Significant VAT changes for building and construction services on the horizon

Significant changes are being introduced to the VAT treatment of supplies in the construction industry with effect from 1 October 2019. A domestic “reverse charge” rule is being introduced which will change the person responsible for accounting for VAT in relation to certain supplies of construction services.

Preparing for Brexit – applications for settled status now open

The UK Government has now opened its EU Settlement Scheme, which will open fully by 30 March 2019. The deadline for applying will be 30 June 2021, or until 31 December 2020 if the UK leaves the EU without a deal.
