Iain joined Johnston Carmichael in 2023. Iain is a Chartered Tax Adviser with nearly two decades of experience advising individuals, trustees and family business owners on complex UK tax matters.  He has worked in a variety of professional services businesses ranging in size from a 2 partner firm to the Big 4. Iain has also spent time in the financial services sector bolstering personal tax technical expertise in operations environments.

Known for his clear communication style, Iain enjoys the challenge of explaining the application of complex and intricate tax rules in a manner that is easy to digest and understand. He believes good tax advice should be as comprehensible as it is accurate – and always grounded in what matters to the client.

In terms of alignment with the firm’s sectors, probably mainly Rural at the moment, but I tend to do a bit of everything rather than focus on one sector.
