Gemma brings extensive experience having worked in the audit profession for almost 20 years. Prior to joining JC, Gemma worked at a Big 4 firm for over 19 years from a graduate trainee through various promotions to senior audit director.

She has led audits for large, complex groups and has supported the growth of medium‑sized and large private businesses. Alongside her broad cross‑sector background, she brings deep expertise in Property & Construction and Manufacturing and has significant experience working with PE‑backed companies.

Gemma has technical expertise in audit and accounts, financial reporting (including IFRS and UK GAAP) and internal controls (including SOx).

She has also worked with businesses through various transactions including listing/delisting on AIM and various acquisitions. Her breadth of experience gives her valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities facing businesses across the North East.

Outside of work, Gemma is a dedicated powerlifter, training in the gym four to five times a week. Away from the platform, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their toddler, Cameron, and making memories on family holidays.
