Calum is the firm’s Technology and Life Sciences Ecosystem Manager and leads on our support for clients and founders that operate in the sector. Calum joined the firm in 2023 and prior to that has operated across Scotland working with early stage technology ventures as they grow.
He was previously the Scaleup Engagement Manager for Scotland at Tech Nation - a government funded organisation that supported technology founders whilst he also spent time working with venture capital and private equity investors providing technology due diligence services.
Today, he leads Johnston Carmichael’s engagement and support for the Technology and Life Sciences community across the UK, leveraging his and the firm’s experience in order to provide value and insight to founding teams as they scale. Through his role, he manages a number of partnerships with organisations that provide support to early stage founders and also works with various university programmes to support their founders as they work towards commercialisation.
He previously acted as a judge for Scottish EDGE and was also recognised by Campfire in 2023 as an Unsung Hero of the Scottish Start Up Ecosystem.
