Aileen joined Johnston Carmichael in October 2022 following 16 years with Azets and Campbell Dallas where Aileen was the Regional Head of Tax covering the Scottish Region.  Aileen’s background is law, having graduated from Glasgow University with a Law Degree and her training in tax was with the Big 4.

Aileen advises entrepreneurs and family businesses from start up to scale up and large private companies, dealing with both corporate tax and personal tax compliance and advisory work.  She specialises in providing pro active advisory services covering restructuring, transactions, succession planning, family investment companies, mergers and demergers.  Aileen also heads the firms tax investigations team assisting clients with HMRC enquiries from small aspect enquiries to more complex COP 9 situations.

Aileen has advised a diverse range of businesses covering many different sectors and seeks to offer pragmatic and commercial solutions.

In her spare time (which is sparse with a six year old and three dogs, two rabbits and a gecko!) Aileen can usually be found out playing on her bike, with her days of ultra running now a distant memory.
