During a period where lots of us will find ourselves working from home - with no access to our usual office tech - Douglas Rintoul, Partner and Head of IT, talks us through how to use our iPhones to scan and email documents.

    1. Open the 'Notes' app.

    2. Then tap 'Folders' top left to go to the folders screen.

    3. Under 'On my iPhone' again select 'Notes'.

    4. Tap the new note icon at the bottom right corner (this looks like a piece of paper and pen).

    5. Click the camera icon (as if to take a picture).

    6. Tap 'Scan Documents'.

    7. Line up the first page of your document and press the circular button, centre bottom, to take a picture.

    8. Tap 'Keep Scan' or re-take if required.

    9. If applicable, line up the second page and, again, take a picture pressing the circular button.

    10. Again, select 'Keep scan'.

    11. Continue until all pages have been scanned

    12. Tap 'Save' bottom right - there may be a number in brackets next to 'Save', being the number of pages you have scanned.

    13. Give the file a name.

    14. Tap 'Done' in the top right-hand corner.

    15. Hit the upload icon in the top right-hand corner. This is the box with an arrow.

    16. Tap 'Email'.

    17. Send as required.
