Tom joined Johnston Carmichael in September 2024 and has over 10 years’ experience in Global Mobility working within the Big 4.

Tom’s experience is founded on a compliance background dealing with the UK tax affairs of cross border VIP and assignee populations for a wide range of corporate clients. From developing a strong network of client relationships, Tom then moved into roles with a more advisory focus, specialising in managing client relationships and delivering end-to-end mobility services.

Tom enjoys creating meaningful, lasting client relationships, and does this by using his specialist knowledge to provide pro-active advice related to an organisation’s globally mobile workforce.

Typical areas his experience spans would be designing assignment policy, providing tax briefing support, managing UK and overseas compliance obligations and utilising HMRC agreements to maximise UK tax efficiency opportunities for inbound and outbound business traveller populations. He also has experience in international social security compliance.
