A Tax Director in the Edinburgh office, Chris joined Johnston Carmichael in 2025. He trained as a Tax Inspector with HMRC before moving into the private sector, where he gained over 10 years’ experience, including time with a Big 4 firm.

Chris’s main role at Johnston Carmichael is the provision of tax compliance and advisory services to a broad range of clients. He works extensively with large corporates, advising on areas such as corporate interest restriction, loan relationships and debt structuring, and international tax matters. Chris also has considerable experience working with owner managed businesses, providing practical and commercially focused tax advice.
