Alan has over 20 years’ experience in dealing with private client tax, primarily providing tax planning advice to individuals, business owners, trusts and estates.

Alan specialises in a wide range of areas including residence matters, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, employment taxes and share remuneration.

Alan is a Chartered Tax Advisor and ATT member, and past winner of the CIOT’s Spofforth Medal on sitting exams way back in May 2010.  

Alan currently sits on the ICAS Private Client committee, having in the past held roles on CIOT committees.  

Outside of work, Alan can usually be found on a bike, often in various events across the country and occasionally abroad.  He is a committee member of Edinburgh RC, one of Scotland’s largest sports clubs, and organises many of their races and other events.
