Adrienne is a Tax Director based in our Newcastle office. She is a Chartered Tax Adviser and has been advising businesses in the North East of England for over 25 years.

The first 11 years of her career were spent in Corporate Tax at two of the Big Four firms. In 2004 she moved to a large local independent firm to focus on Transaction Tax and Corporate Tax advisory work. Prior to joining Johnston Carmichael in June 2025, she was leading the Transaction Tax service for the North East offices of Azets.

Adrienne specialises in providing tax advice to companies and shareholders who are undertaking transactions that involve changes to the ownership or structure of the business, such as mergers and acquisitions, Management Buy Outs and Buy Ins, restructurings, demergers and reorganisations. Her wealth of experience also means she is well placed to identify when other tax specialists, such as VAT, IHT, employment taxes etc should be consulted.   

During a transaction Adrienne will work closely with Corporate Finance advisers and legal advisers, the aim being to ensure there is a clear tax strategy and that tax is effectively managed throughout the process, from the early concept stage through to implementation and completion.

For relaxation Adrienne enjoys spending time with her family and has recently begun researching her family tree.
