Johnston Carmichael expands corporate finance team
Scotland’s largest independent accountancy and business advisory firm, Johnston Carmichael, has strengthened its corporate finance team with a senior strategic hire following over £320m of deals in 2018.
Campbell Cummings, a qualified chartered accountant, who specialises in M&A advisory work, has been appointed as a director in Johnston Carmichael’s corporate finance team based in its Glasgow office. He brings over 15 years’ experience advising and executing on acquisitions, disposals, buyouts and fundraising.
The further addition to the corporate finance team supports the continued growth following a busy 2018 and with a strong pipeline looking forward to 2019.
Prior to joining Johnston Carmichael, Campbell worked in M&A roles in both practice and industry, having spent five years working at The Weir Group PLC, a FTSE250 engineering company, latterly as Head of Corporate Development where he oversaw a significant period of M&A activity across a range of deal sizes. He also has 11 years’ experience at a ‘Big Four’ firm in both the UK and Canada, and brings significant international deal experience, having successfully completed over 30 transactions in nine countries.
In his new role, Campbell will use his sector expertise – including industrial products, manufacturing, retail & consumer, transportation and business services - to advise a range of mid-market clients in the Central Belt on potential M&A and finance options.
Corporate finance is one of Johnston Carmichael’s strategic growth areas and I’m proud to become part of a team that covers all of Scotland. I look forward to working with our clients to help them take advantage of the range of M&A opportunities we continue to see in the market, despite the wider political environment.
