Johnston Carmichael grows private client expertise with senior hire
Johnston Carmichael has strengthened its private client tax team with a new senior appointment as part of its strategy to offer Scotland’s most comprehensive tax advice service.
Max Chassels has joined Johnston Carmichael as Private Client Tax Director and will is based at the firm’s Aberdeen office.
He brings more than 12 years of experience gained at Big Four firms, and will provide personal tax advice to a range of individuals, partnerships and companies with a focus on transaction-based work.
This includes advising shareholders and management teams on the tax implications of MBOs/MBIs/trade sales which often includes the design and implementation of share structures and share/option incentive plans – as well as buy-side tax advice to private equity funds and corporates on acquisition, consideration and earn-out mechanisms.
He also has significant experience of advising clients on the tax implications of tax efficient investments such as BPRA, EIS, SEIS and VCT.
