Welcome to JC Exchange, a dedicated support network for accounting and finance professionals.

Formerly known as Polar Club and created by Johnston Carmichael, we understand that you need to protect and grow your business but, on occasion, may need outside specialists in order to fulfil your clients’ needs.

This is where we help. As a member of JC Exchange, we provide you with access to our accounting and tax experts who can advise on and, if required, fulfil a range of specialist services. And because of our size and scale, wherever you are based there will always be an expert on hand to listen and advise.

It’s free to join and adheres to our core value of ‘doing the right thing’. This means that all JC Exchange members are protected by a non-solicitation agreement, so whilst we work together to help enhance your services, at all times you keep your client.

What are the benefits?

  • Invite to regular seminars and drinks receptions
  • CPD accreditation through attendance at events
  • Free accountancy updates and mailings: read the latest edition of our newsletter here
  • Access to the Johnston Carmichael team to discuss client or operational issues
  • Free enquiry line providing an essential sounding board
  • Non solicitation agreement ensuring that member firms retain their clients

How does it work?

We hold regular JC Exchange events that are structured around short presentations by a Johnston Carmichael specialist on current technical accounting and tax issues. This is then followed by an informal discussion amongst members over light refreshments.

The events, support network, and our open lines of communication ensure that you have the ability to answer client questions or technical issues that require an additional level of expertise.

Should you need to make a referral and utilise the services of Johnston Carmichael, as a member of JC Exchange you can:

  1. Arrange for a Johnston Carmichael specialist to contact your client directly to discuss their requirements, and if appropriate, arrange a meeting
  2. Approve a course of action for our firm to undertake specialist work on your behalf
  3. Agree whether it is best for Johnston Carmichael to engage directly with your client or provide you with advice in the background.
